Independence II goes home with our camp students.
Our hatched chicks turned three weeks old today. Their feathers are coming in and we can see the black and white pattern on Independence II and III. Independence I has got more golden color around the neck.
Our three little chicks turned two weeks old today. Independence II and III are much bigger than Independence I. They all can fly out of the brooder very well now. Independence I has the longest tail feathers, but Independence III still doesn’t have obvious tail feathers. They all start getting brownish color in their wings. Our camp students love to hold them everyday and observe their changes.
Our students held and patted the little chicks. The new camp students learned how to tell the sex of the little chicks, and observed the development differences in male and female chicks. For example, Independence II and Independence III were both bigger than Independence I, and tail feathers already came in on Independence I.
